Lazy Saturday

We've been doing next to nothing today. After cleaning the carpets, it has been all lazy daisey. Mom got out the "tunnels" and ended up getting stuck trying to climb through with Ty.

We are just watching the Cardinals and Saints play football and the Cougars play CSU in basketball. Later today the Colts play, so I don't see us doing much the rest of the day either :)

Rough Night

Poor little Brody had a rough night. He was just too hungry at 2:00. We held out until 3:30am - but then gave in. He slept good after he got some of mom's magic juice, though.

Last night we watched the movie Paper Heart. I wouldn't recommend it, I was pretty dumb and slow. There were a couple ackward funny parts, that's about it!

Well, time to steam clean the carpets :)

5 Minutes!

I realized on my way to work today, that I only have one stop sign on my short 5 minute drive - and that's in our neighborhood. Coming home I'm not so lucky - there are 2 stop signs I have to go through...

Basketball

After work, I had a basketball game. I'm playing with a league at Pinnacle and MAN am I out of shape!! This was our second game, and I've played in 1 ward game also. It is frustrating because my mind wants to play like I used to play - but my body just can't do it!!

However, I do feel like I'm getting close to getting back. Each game I've had some improvement, and my legs are slowly coming back. I think the thing that effects me the most is my confidence. When I don't feel confident, I play with hesitation and am too worried about making mistakes. Which, interestingly, causes me to make more mistakes. Anyway, I think a couple more games and I'll start playing much better.

Little Brody had his 4 month checkup yesterday and 2 shots (poor guy). Poor Mindy has had a rough day dealing with the grumpy little guy. She is a trooper though, and even got out of the house to come to my game. Have I mentioned I have the 2 cutest kids, EVER? Brody is a big kid - 75th percentile in weight and 95th in height! Hopefully he keeps the height, I've always wished I was taller.

The best part of today was that my wife went and played basketball too!! I'm glad she got out and involved herself. It was a ward game, and apparently there wasn't a very big turn-out. But, they still played and I wish I could have seen the game! i bet she played well. Thanks Mindy for doing that! I hope you catch every game!

Now, I just have to decide whether I want to wake up and exercise in the morning......

I love my wife!

It's been a while since I've written! But, I just wanted to tell my wife thanks for being so amazing. She is a sweetheart and I love her so much. I love spending time with my family - so much so that time at work or away from them really sucks!

Platinum just moved to American Fork, so now I just have a short 5 minute drive to work. It is nice because I can come home for lunch and spend a LOT less time driving on the crowded freeways :)

Anyway, I'll try to write more often....

We are now at Mindy's parents. We've had soup and now everyone is getting ice cream and cake.

But, the highlight of the day, is that Stewart finally won a race!! And, most of the chasers crashed. So, it was a good points day for Stewy. Too bad he probably needs 2 or 3 more races like this to get back into the championship picture..

Anyway, Ty is making a mess with his cupcake, so I better go help out!!

Today we've just laid low, watched conference, and played with Ty. Mom took a nice nap, and I've watched the Nascar race. Tonight we are going to Mindy's parents for dinner, and celebrating the twins birthday... There have really been some good talks given at conference. I really liked Monson's talk this morning. He basically talked about taking advantage of every day, and making the most of today. It really puts things into perspective...

Yesterday's highlight was the BYU game. The Cougs started off really good, capitolizing on some turn-overs. But, after being up 27-0 in the first quarter, the Cougs played pretty flat and complacent. Hopefully it will be a wake up call for them, as they had many stalled drives and had to settle for some field goals. I really think they will come out prepared next week. Bottom line, they are still undefeated!

Today we've just been laying low and watching conference. It has been pretty relaxing! Right now we are at the Rogers having pizza and getting ready for the guys to go to the priesthood session. Ty is happy, of course, because he is with his cousins!

Last night I watched the Utah game.  I have the same feeling about them that I have every year - we should demolish them.  Their offense is gimmicky, undisciplined.  Their defense often over-pursues (admittedly they do pretty good against the run) and misses assignments.  That have pretty good rushers - but our O-line is too good for them.  I hope BYU doesn't under perform this year!  Seriously, they would beat the Utes 9 times out of 10 if they played each other every week.  But, that 1 time could be the time they beat us!

We also watched "Pushing Daisies" last night.  I've really missed this show.  And, while this wasn't one of the better episodes (in fact, a little disappointing), I enjoyed watching it.  Hopefully things get back on track next week.

Lastly, we watched some of the Vice-Presidential Debate.  I don't have too much to say about this, other than the fact that the McCain party needs to do something to breathe life into their campaign.  It bugs me that the MAIN reason Obama is winning is because he pins the economy failure on the republicans.  No mention that over 2 years ago McCain was screaming for reform (and has been since) with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac - which Bush also supported.  But, the democrats overwhelmingly shut it down in the House.  Also, no mention that Obama has gotten more money in the last 3 years from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac than anyone else in it's 9 year history (of course he didn't want anything to change with the organization) - or that the former corrupt CFO of Fannie Mae is Obama's economic advisor.  Uh, seems a little scary...

Anyway, this morning has been a little slow so far.  I have things I can do - but it is Friday and I'm having a hard time getting myself to want to do those things!!!

So, when I woke up this morning, I somehow pulled a muscle in my neck/back. I'm surprised I made it to work without killing myself, because I can't look left or right. But, I slept pretty well!

Tonight I have to work late. But, I also have a couple softball games (I don't know if I can go with my neck, but they don't have enough players...). But I'm really considering ditching the game.

Ty is starting to wake up each morning calling for Da-Da. It is fun. But, then I quickly realize he just wants me to get him out of bed so he can go see Ma-Ma.

Also, I just wanted to tell my wife I love her, and I appreciate the talk we had last night and the efforts she makes in so many areas of her life. I love you, Mindy!

Lots of fun at the zoo today with Ty! He had a really good time with Grandpa Pops, and we were very glad he came with us. Now I have some work to catch up on, but it was well worth the time off. After the elephant handler did a trick having the elephant retrieve it's hat - Ty tried to give the elephant his hat! We also saw a cheetah run, the monkeys play, and the giraffe eat. Ty had a fun time finding the animals and pointing at each one he found! He was super cute, and he even learned to say "zoo".
