It is just not Stewart's year. He has the fastest car the whole second half of the race, but everytime he pits he looses 1-5 spots on pit road. I imagine it was pretty frustrating for him. He still has a chance at the end to beat Johnson, but of course Johnson keeps the preferred top line and Stewart can't get it done. That last pit positioning is so important for first an second place, it is just hard to pass someone in the last few laps.

Anyway, it has been a weekend of satisfaction (BYU winning and Stewart finishing second), but it wasn't the weekend that I wanted. BYU really needed a convincing win over Washington, and because they didn't get it, they dropped 3 spots in the polls and lost national respect. They now need to get it done convincingly against UCLA. Stewart got into the chase, but their team has to perform much better if they have any chance at the championship (which right now it seems they have no chance). It has been 39 races since Stewart has won. He's been in position in 3-4 races but just haven't sealed the deal (including leading the race with 2 laps left and blowing a tire). 39 races is a long time, that's around 140 hours of dissapointed race watching...UGHHHH

Well, I have no idea what's happened in the NFL today, so I'll have to do some browsing and watch Sports Center. But, then of course I'll have to deal with all the media biased against BYU and listening to how the refs gave them the game. Man, let's hope there are better weekends ahead!!
